100% ICELANDIC BARLEY

The Icelandic barley is a hardy strain selected to thrive during the short, intense Icelandic summer. It imparts a sweet bready maltiness and complex spice notes on our spirit.

We are a family-run distillery founded in 2009, dedicated to making premium Icelandic spirits from 100% local ingredients: Flóki, our Single Malt Whisky; Vor, our Icelandic premium gin; and Víti our premium Icelandic Brennivín, made using locally grown Icelandic barley.

Flóki is handcrafted and produced from 100% Icelandic barley by Eimverk Distillery. It took 4 years and 163 trial distillations as well as aging and maturation testes to perfect the Flóki recipe. Production started in 2013, and sales of Eimverks first product, Vor gin, took place in 2014.

TASTING NOTES

Light-bodied and zesty, with ripe plums and vanilla bursting from the glass. These are covered in a generous sprinkling of cinnamon and nutmeg. Belatedly, notes of toasted barley and heather honey break to the surface. There’s a lot of flavor and a nice sweetness to this dram. Really enjoyable!”

Our journey started with the goal to make great Icelandic whisky, as such we took great care and time in perfecting the recipe, and we are still to this day dedicated to making each and every cask better than the last one. Flóki is Iceland’s first and only whisky and our sheep-dung-smoked reserve is the first of its kind in the world.
