Teerenpeli Brewery and Distilery

Teerenpeli is a family owned brewery and distillery in Lahti, Finland which was founded by Anssi and Marianne Pyysing in 1994. Teerenpeli is the oldest whisky distillery in Finland. Distilling began in 2002.

Teerenpeli’s whiskies are distilled from Finnish malted barley, all of which is grown within 100 miles of the distillery.  This barley is grown during the short, but intense Finnish summer which is characterized by long days.

The distillery uses clear and fresh groundwater which is filtered through the Salpausselkä ridge system, a gravel ridge formed by the last ice age, around 10,000 years ago.

All heat required for Teerenpeli’s production is generated with renewable energy.
